My hometown team is back in the football league for the first time in 48 years and there’s a good chance they’ll get relegated with no fans watching their return. The grand irony.
I got chatting to a bloke at my local non league club Bath City a few years ago. He had lived in Bath but moved to Barrow. He still saw a dozen or so home games every year. I asked him if he ever went to Barrow. He looked at me as if I was mad. Would love to go to Barrow.

Teams absolutely despise coming up here for some reason; we’re not even the further journey they make. Whenever we get a game on BT the pundits spend alllll of the preview discussing the other team and how grim it is up here haha.

I enjoy going to matches with my mates, my dad and my son. Whether it is to see our local side Dundalk play in front of 3,500 and casually walk home afterwards enjoying the buzz of discussing the match, perhaps over a pint. Or maybe a weekend trip over to goodison to watch the blues in front of 40,000 with our own little pre and post match routines. The smell of hotdogs and chips wafting through the air, the cackles of "get yer match programmes" and murmers of excitement as you approach the old lady...

Or whether it's just watching it on the box, feeling the rush and feeding off the frenzy of noise coming from the street end as the ball hits the back of the net...

Yeah. I fu$king miss the fans.

Yes I'm bothered because ive had a season ticket since I was 11, I'm now 37, it's apart of my life and my routine, I go to the odd away game in a season too but the rest of the aways will probably be watched in a pub, but you can't do that either lol
It’s only recently dawned on me that I enjoy the day out more than the football.
I think this is due to us being gash for 20 years, but I’d like to see this Everton side live now.

Funnily enough, me and my cousin who I go with was only saying this last season after fat Sam and Silva and all that, we realised most of the enjoyment was before and after the match haha, I love going the game but it's the day as a whole that makes it, being with mates and family and other blues, just typical we have a great start this season but can't be there, proper Everton That, wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if we actually won the 'kin league lol
