Bit pointless but i've just had a ice cold glass of the scottish orange finest and just thought 'ahhhhhhh' compelete refreshment, all that was missing was a hamburger supper and a tunnocks caramel wafer...

Bloody good when combined with ice-cream too, don't knock till you try fellas :D

I haven't had Irn Bru in years. I must buy a bottle tomorrow, i used to love the stuff.

Make sure it's ice cold, was craving some the other day, been off fizzy drinks for ages but ahhh man it was bloody good, if you can find it in a glass bottle then do it, by far the best!! then you get you 20p refund for the ice-cream van/ chippy or maybe that was jus round my way as a wee lassy :) Enjoy.

No we had the refund thing too. I remember we used to go round the back of our local shop, steal the bottles and take them into the front of the shop :P

What a scamp!! we used to lie to my cousin that our gran wasn't his gran anymore as his mum and dad had split (confusin but we had are reasons and at 4 and my sis 7 we were rather convincing to a 5 year old boy) so we got the stash at grannies, dont feel bad on him mind, he was an obese lil sod and didn't need the sugar :p

irn bru....made in scotland

that'd be the scotland that's in Atherton near Leigh in Gtr. Manchester then would it ?
Going to a job in the morning and the bloke when he was telling me where it was said "you know, across from the old irn bru factory" and I aint driving up to kiltsville. It might be made in Scotland now but it was made by Barrs in Athy, or 'Bent' as it's known locally (they used to make tizer there previously)

btw, Vimto pishes all over it in pop terms.

ruin the magic reids with your geographical technicalities, it reminds me o being a bonnie wee lass in the mean streets o glasgow and when i moved to lincolnshire to sod had heard of it back in 95'.... pffft memories in tatters there and vimto is pish compared to irn bru unless its in cordial form. Fact

I can remember getting the bottles from my grans house too as a kid. She used to drink quite a lot of pop, which was handy for us as kids as she always had some and we had the bottles for a bit of extra pocket money.

Vimto is cordial, the fizzy shiz is a latter day abomination of carbonation.

Irn bru was first made in glasgee but they bought the tizer factory and started making it there as well.

forget the £ / € rate

economicexpert said:
Irn Bru and other Barr brands including Tizer, Red Kola, Barr Cola and Limeade are still available in refundable glass bottles. The current conversion rate is 1 Full bottle (75p) for 3.75 Empty Bottles (20p a bottle).

One day you'll tell me what Scotland has done to you, you monster.

Its made in Cumbernauld primarily and Mansfield too.

It's superior to Vimto too.
