Well by it's very definition it's absolutely not cutting edge tech, but I get what you mean. I usually just get a SIM only deal from ID mobile or someone (unlimited calls, texts and 8gb data for £10 pm or something) and buy a phone from a year or so ago. Mugs game to do anything else to be honest.

Well ok I was stretching the definition a bit - but it still feels cutting edge, and unless you use the latest one, what difference would you know?
I bought my first phone on a deal with a sim because at the time it was pretty much the same price then you got a 'free' upgrade etc. Now they've got people hooked onto the never never you end up paying top well over the odds.
Plus I always reason - if I paid 500 for a phone and dropped it under a car, I'd be upset for a few days. I got into a contract to pay for a phone and dropped it under a car I'd be upset for a few days every month for three years!

I have never had a phone contract in my life. i buy mine refurb and use a three pay and go sim. mental how they rope people into 2 year contracts.
