Surely they will continue to offer them in the Apple stores without a contract?

I NEVER buy with a contract, always outright - the 64GB will be about ...£800+
 
Oh yeah, you can get them off contract from Apple or direct from the carriers, it will likely be $800+ here as well

Don't get me wrong, I own some Apple devices. I see the appeal. But the kind of person who rushes out to buy the new Apple this and the new Apple that every year gets on my tits. Stop giving them so much money ffs.

Couldn't you say that about most things though. If it brings joy to someones life, why stop it. I would never spend that much for a phone, the base 16Gb version is more than enough for me (I understand that buying a subsidized phone with a contract is more expensive in the long run than an unsubsidized phone with cheaper rates).

If people want to run out and give their money to Apple, that is their perogative. Just like people who buy every single video game out there, or the guys who have a new 65" TV every 3 minutes.
