The way he's portrayed himself since retiring, I think shows he's still got a soft spot for us, even if he is a red.

I think he just has a brain in his head and is capable of separating club rivalries from professional duties. A rare breed.

He's spot on in regards to Lukaku. Exactly the view I have.

I hated Carragher as a player, but since he retired he's grown on me. He talks a lot of sense from a football perspective and what I like about his Everton/Liverpool views is that, despite him being a red, his perspective is more balanced than the likes of an Aldridge or Gerrard etc, most likely to do with his upbringing as a blue
