A host of Everton players have been on international duty over the past couple of days and I'm glad to report none of them picked up any injuries. Here's how they fared:
Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines and John Heitinga didn't play as the England v Netherlands match was called off due to the rioting darn sarf. The Ghana v Nigeria match at Watford's Vicarage Road was also off so no international action for Joseph Yobo or Victor Anichebe (Yak wasn't in the Nigeria squad).
Diniyar Bilyaletdinov came on as a first half sub for the injured Andrei Arshavin as Russia won 1-0 against Serbia. The only goal of the game was scored by Pavel Pogrebnyak.
Apostolos Vellios played for Greece U21s in their Euro Qualifier against Belarus. Greece scored with minutes to go to make it 2-2, only for Belarus to score a 94th minute penalty and win 3-2. Vellios didn't score but had a header just wide.
Jan Mucha's Slovakia won 2-1 in Austria. Everton's no.2 keeper played the whole game.
Timmy Cahill played against Wales in Cardiff and scored the opening goal - a crisp volley from the penalty spot. The Aussies scored again through Robbie Kruse before Wales pulled one back late on.
Marouane Fellaini started for Belgium against Slovenia, but was taken off at half time (don't think it was due to an injury, just not quite match-fit yet). Game ended goalless.
James Wallace came on as a first-half sub for the injured Reece Wabara as England U20s crashed out of the World Cup at the hands of Nigeria (England lost 1-0). That's what you get if you fail to score a single goal in four games.
Finally, Tim Howard kept goal for the US of A as they drew 1-1 with neighbours Mexico. Ex-Everton loanee Landon Donovan also played.
