Player Valuation: £950k
“The difficult thing is when you don’t know how much money you have got and then that becomes really tough, because you can find yourself looking at players you can’t afford and it’s a wasted exercise.”

The interview was going all well and good but he slipped that in. He mentioned that Moyes and he had spoken while Moyes was on holiday. It was an intentionally slipped remark. It looks obvious that Moyes feels he's been wasting his time looking at expensivish players because Kenwright and Co have not been able to produce substantial funds.. Moyes obviously mentioned that to Irvine, who has been good enough to let us Everton fans who bother noticing these things, know. Thank you Alan Irvine. The article is in the echo on page 2. It's a clear comment aimed at Everton's board and Kenwright.

For those too lazy to read the piece, Irvine was clearly hinting and commenting on Moyes' feeling that he doesn't clearly know how much he ever has too spend, and therfore wastes time scouting players because after all that work he may (and probably) not be able to afford them.

I don't understand what's going.

Kenwright has to actively attempt to sell the club now because it's become increasingly obvious we need that. And we're going nowhere fast with £2m or so each summer.

Kenwright will not sell the club until he receives a bid that meets his own profit evaluation. He's a businessman first, a Blue second.

Furthermore, he will not invest or seek investment, because as long as we remain in the division and tread water then the business holds steady and he's already made his profit due to the money boom in the Premier League era. There's literally no reason to pump money into the squad unless relegation become a possibility.

But anyway, may as well have posted this in the Kenwright/Everton Board thread.

Thought it was an interesting quote worth posting. I didn't see that other thread homes.

Moyes knows he's got fook all to spend

Then why does he as he himself said, look at players from the value of Seamus to the £15m mark? He clearly does NOT know what he ever had or will have and is just doing his best under the circumstances.

Moyes quote:

“I want to try and be ready, but it is not easy, but the staff have been on the road for months so when we get the nod we’re ready to give Everton a fresh look. The scouts do a brilliant job at Everton, I work them hard and they have been looking at players up to a value of up to £10-15m but also looking at players for nothing and around the players at the £60,000 Seamus Coleman amount.”

These quotes are from around a month ago.

It's clear what's going on.

Good on Alan Irvine getting a little dig in on the board! Cheers Royal Blue

I've heard Irvines hiding out somewhere on the east lancs road with his merry band of outlaws.

Looking to take down the wicked King William, and The Earl of Holywood, Robert.

Sir Philip of Greens been reported to be the real power behind the throne though.
