Christ, another pre-season where he plays matches without eating any food beforehand and is knackered after 20 minutes. It'll give his many haters a store room of ammunition.

Mate, GOT have made their mind up on Kone, just like they did with Naismith and we all know how that turned out.
Ramadan finished after the season had started when he played for Wigan and he managed a successful campaign.
Two very different, and non-comparable examples.
Naismith struggled when he first arrived at Goodison because Moyes continually played him out of position. This was proven to be the case when Martinez gave him game time in his preferred position and The Albino Zola started slotting. Kone on the other hand has achieved absolutely nothing for Everton, due to long-term injury incurred straight after a prolonged period of fasting.
I for one will not be at all surprised if Kone is massively underwhelming this season - his game is based on his pace, and he's just spent a year on his ass.

Not to be deliberately controversial, but when I pay for a ticket I expect that the players will have put everything you can reasonably expect into preparing themselves.

I think his basic point is this - GIVE THE GUY A CHANCE and then judge him.

there are loads of players who observe ramadan, you never hear about it interfering with anybody. I very much doubt ramadan was the reason he was injured last season to be fair.(Kone)
Maybe Martinez would like to rotate the holding midfielders with the same frequency that he rotated the attacking ones last year? We didn't have that option last season so it's hard to tell.

I personally like Gibson and would like to see him in a rotation, he's the type of player we would need against the lower teams in the league. Hopefully he won't dwindle away on the side
