Inherently Negative

Is it our nature as blues to be so negative about everything? Is it because we have won nothing since 95 and 87 before that?

What will it take to turn the negative fan into the optimistic fan that I was in 85. Some may say I have been negative, maybe so to an extent, but it was never my intention to end up like that. ToffeeWeb did it to me.

I was brainwashed.

When I see Moyes signing players who are highly rated, I don't think - "oh well, another kid in the reserves getting paid well before we release him back to the Championship", I think this - "Great, Moyes is trying to build a side beneath a side and following the lead of Mr Wenger".

If the player doesn't make it, doesn't mean that Moyes great plan has failed, it just means the player isn't good enough simple as that. Wenger has had young players fail to make it - Aliadiere, Bentley for example.

But its important to remain as optimistic as the manager is and believe he isn't doing things just for the sake of it, its all elements in the big plan.

Problem with ToffeeWeb is as we know the content. Well not so much the content, just the angle that it is coming from. Generally articles are penned with an agenda to criticise the club. Those articles that come from the public (ie non executive editors - jesus) that are trying to put a positive light on the club are instantly shot down by the negative brigade.

Now I know many posters here have come from ToffeeWeb, its the natural progression for some, but while you feel that the club isn't winning trophies, it is challenging for them. Consider also that in the past 5 years we have built a strong young side, weeded out the poor and developed an optimism throughout the side that us fans should really be mirroring off the field.

You're spot on. Sometimes when I read TW I think I'm living in a parallel universe from some of those people. Yesterday there was loads of stuff about a poor atmosphere at Goodison. Where do these people sit? They can come and sit with me- I'll give them a good atmosphere. God knows, I don't sit quiet for a minute, me and a couple of guys around are always at it (shouting and chanting that is!)
I love Everton, I love being at GP, I love the atmosphere.
We've got a great future ahead of us, DM is building a great young team. Why are some people so [Poor language removed] miserable. There see, it's made me swear!

Trollocks to Victor Meldrew and his pals.

Its worrying isn't it. Were going to get a reputation as a bunch of moaning fans.

I learnt alot over Christmas and my exile. Whatever happens to GP or Everton is going to happen, and there isn't a thing that Michael Kenrick/Tony Marsh/Stavros can do about it.

KEIOC can keep sinking penny's into there quite frankly [Poor language removed] campaign, oh look there's that plane again. Did Bill see it?

Kenrick can keep on with his one man campaign to turn the whole blue nation into the misery he so desires.

But not me, I'm not buying.

I think most clubs will have those sort of supporters, even the Man Uniteds and Arsenals of this world have fans with that sort of attitude :(

Yeah, but do they have a big following on a supposed big site? A large portion of our fans who use the internet, must go on TW.

Kipper and NSNO are more used than TW, which considering TW was probably the first Everton fans site, and for long periods a better source of club info than the OS, it's perhaps reasonable to say that TW hasn't grown as it should have done.

Amazing really, because Lyndon has created a great layout and design. Whereas Blue Kipper is like something from the late 90's and NSNO to me is just an adword revenue stream site.

Yes, if you look at the three sites then TW does create the impression of being by far the more professional outfit, and to be honest they always have done. That's the main reason why I've used TW at the expense of all the others ever since I first started following Everton on the web.

The main difference between the three sites of course is that Kipper and NSNO both embraced forums early on. TW has used forums reluctantly it seems, with editorial being used in favour of community. They have had a few stabs at forums now, a couple hosted off site, a couple hosted on site but with pretty poor software, and now the parternship with this place.

Maybe they're happy with what they are and its a concious decision to follow more mainstream media with editorial and leave the web2.0 style community stuff to other sites. Being the biggest isn't always the best.

I don't even visit toffeeweb anymore, unless someone links to an article there on here. I'm sure anything newsworthy will be posted about on here anyway, so don't need it. Just don't bother going there anymore, and let the people on here be your toffeeweb filter! :)

I want to hear from Michael Kendrick on this!

Sorry mate couldnt resist.

Of course, but lets be fair. When we had Johnson to deal with or Mike Walkers never ending corner, than times were [Poor language removed]. But we are dealing with a setup better than ever and a team better than any team that has been produced since 1987. New stadium looks good and professional. Once the wrench of leaving GP has gone and all avenues are satisfied, then the future looks good.

Youth setup looks good. Chang is starting to grow. Players want to sign for us. Every manager and pundit thinks David Moyes is the bollocks, what the [Poor language removed] is there to moan about?

[Toffeeweb]Moyes out! We are 4 WHOLE DAYS into the transfer window and we haven't signed a whole world-class reserve team. We only have 26 DAYS REMAINING until the window shuts. Moyes has taken us as far as he can, tactically inept etc etc[/Toffeeweb]
