Player Valuation: £20m
After any bad run, it's inevitable there will be a splurge of critical posts. And why not? After all, you pays your money, you makes your noise.

The things that get me are the absence of sad puppy photos and the often repeated belief that this group of players are capable of beating x, y & z.

Let me put the first to rights.

Now to deal with the second.

Do any of you believe that this squad is capable of winning the C L? Or the Premiership? Do you think that they're better, as a squad, than half a dozen others in the Premiership?

Despite their less than impressive performances recently, I think Coleman, Baines and Miralles are gems. After that, going through the senior squad name by name, I must be missing what a lot of you are seeing. I see people who were once good / very good; people who might be might be very good sometime in the future; and people who were cheap and were bought to fill a glaring gap.

Martinez (to state the bleeding obvious) isn't Merlin. He - and any other manager - can do so much but they can't turn clay into gold.

(And having said that, they'll now beat the Geordies 4 - 0.)

I'd list down;

.....................................???

Coleman...........Stones.............???...........Baines

.......................McCarthy..........Besic...................

???................................Barkley...............Mirallas

.....................................Lukaku

That's our best side with Garbutt also looking very strong potentially.

Clearly there's 3 players missing there and the bench looks very week indeed and over the hill.

It's clear that a top keeper / ball playing centre back / fast direct winger are all needed just for the first eleven. These three positions are key to the system.

So on the one hand we look like a potentially top side but on the other Martinez needs to bring in players to make us a top side

The players on those teams generally gave 100% for the shirt

We are better when Osman plays?

We had bad spells every season under Moyes and then it was Kenwrights fault. Martinez is getting some sh!te thrown at him here more than Moyes did IMO.
I think that's because a few Moyes diehard supporters felt a bit stupid last season and where made to feel like that by the anti-Moyes/Martinez fans.

Now they're using our current predicament to settle old scores. It's sad really.

Don't think we ever lost 3 games on the bounce under Moyes? Correct me if i'm wrong though.

You could always count on him to deliver an arsewhooping to get the team into shape after an abysmal performance, but right now we're seeing bad performance after bad performance - from ourselves and the referee

Counting all comps
Moyes 2003-04 9 without win with 3 losses on bounce then one with 4 losses on bounce

2004-05 1 win in 7 with 3 losses on bounce and 5 losses in that sequence.

2005-06 2 wins in 14 games with 6 losses on bounce and another sequence of 4 losses on bounce in that season.

2006-07 2 wins in 10 with 3 losses on bounce

2007-08 1 win in 8 games

2008-09 2wins in 12 games with 3 losses on bounce

2009-10 2 wins in 17 games with 3 losses on bounce twice

2010-11 1 win in 8 games and another with 2 wins in 12 games

2011-12 3 wins in 12 games and 3losses on bounce twice

2012-13 3 wins in 14 games

Moyes didn't get the blame Kenwright did

Give Martinez the same chance to rectify things.
