Improving/Developing players

We saw with Moyes that almost every defender (Kroldrup!) He signed dramaticaly improved whilst playing for us, players like Baines,Lescott and Jagielka must have had the talent but he took them to a level where they won a lot of England caps...likewise he spotted Stones and also developed Coleman into one of the nest right backs in the league.

Martinez i think has developed Lukaku very well last season by playing to his weaknesses so he now is much more impressive all round. Likewise this season Barkley and McCarthy are playing in slightly different postions perhaps to improve their all round game. Deulofeu of course seems to be coming into his own and Stones of course is also improving.

Is it a case of the main players now being young so improving naturally anyway or do Martinez and his staff have a flair for improving players like we have seen with Lukaku etc, how much can be attributed to the tactics and also his management style "allowing" them to take risks?

I look at LVG at United and Mourinho before at Chelsea and some of their players like Depay Zouma and Oscar for example and think they would really thrive under Martinez...

we have some great young defenders .. however whether it's his management style / philosophy or whatever Martinez needs to start coaching them how to defend effectively.

cases have been made in other threads that Martinez style / philosophy / blind favouritism toward certain senior players may thwart the advancement of a very talented group of youngsters.

I mentioned Stones at the end of the 2nd paragraph mate.

@sportbillyblue it could be that hes very effective at developing players individually but perhaps not to be part of a unit...or more realistically hasnt cleared out the squad or signed key players he needs...

Hes a strange one, seems to have left Hamburg and done well for himself getting into the Bosnia world cup squad and now considered their best player...

Yet cant get a game for us yet. Not sure why as for Bosnia he looks top notch.

Because every post of his is a list about the development and future elevens of the clubs youngsters.
Probably why people constantly place a yewtree label on him.
