If you won £3 million pounds what would be your first purchase ? House, car, holiday or brasses even.. what would you buy first ?

new bicycle, car for the oldest, tailor jacket. probably 2 or 3 tailored jackets and maybe 2 bicycles. then I'd have a short vacation at a coffee shop and think about my current and next job(s).

Been thinking more about this …. I’d stick half in a high interest account and then I’d just go and do what I want…. Travel different places, eat different foods and learn about different cultures. I have no interest in 5 star hotels or fancy restaurants… never ever felt the need to lash 500 quid on squid ink on chips .. so it’s be cheap and cheerful around the world 🌍

If any part of your plan includes becoming a landlord for further financial gain you're a seriously greedy tory.

Pay debts.....mainly what MrsCT has took out over the years.
Buy a decent sized house with no immediate neighbours, kit it out with a home cinema / music room with some decent high spec gear.
Work out how much I'd earn in my job between now and state pension age, double it and put it in the bank & ISAs to live off
Buy the 2 boys a house each and throw them a few quid...by necessity their houses may have to be a little more modest than my new stately pile
Trust funds / ISAs for the grandkids till they're hitting uni age
Few charitable donations

Anything leftover gets added to my bank account.

I'd buy a penthouse flat with a sea or hill view and a lift and a nice big balcony for pot plants. I'd get rid of the car and take taxis everywhere. And I'd book two weeks in a swanky Paris hotel.

The more I think about it, the more I desire a simple life unencumbered by worry and it probably would cost that much to do.

But having that 3 million would make living simply very easy indeed.
