It's people who are working, low income families and such who I believe are the biggest users of food banks..... Not the unemployed etc as most people would assume.

Without turning it all political (there's another thread for that), and not using food banks as a barometer, is it categorically, fundamentally much much worse under this govt? I honestly come from a position of general ignorance, I'm fortunate (for want of a better word) not to be in such a grave situation and don't know anyone remotely like it, so I don't have much frame of reference.

Please spare me the Tory bashing but be honest, how bad is it out there?

Your local church is also a good place to donate to as they help people in need quite a bit.

Its not a case of the government should help by sending him a couple of tins a soup, its a case of the government should help by making sure the best they can no one who lives in the country they govern can't afford to buy food in the first place.

Of course once someone is in that position then community should and probably will help.

Work out what you think is the minimum that you could 'survive' on is mate, and then look at just how many folk are living on way less than that. Try and do it on a bare minimum basis taking out stuff thats not essential. It's a very scary place that a lot of folk are in despite working every day.
