Ste Stocks

Player Valuation: £500k
Right, as im seeing more and more topics on here slating the board, i thought id ask the question

What would you lot do?

Scenario:

The club is in a stable (ish) financial state, we have a decent core of players, potentially on the cusp of something. Do you

a) Sell one or two big players to allow us to buy 3 or 4 slightly above average
b) Take the gamble, splash 20mil on 2 new players in the hope that we get an extended cup run/qualify for europe
c) Do nothing (as the board currently are)

Personally, i wouldnt like to be in the situation for real, however, as the saying goes, you have to have money to make money, so potentially by spending money, we could make more money in prize money etc...

Although it could then backfire, but your fans are happy, but your investors arent.

But then again, new players may take 1 year to settle in so it could take 2 years to reap the rewards.

Thoughts??

D) use the cash from the Kitbag and Chang deals Elstone was boasting about and the money from Vaughan and Pienaar and buy a winger and striker.

Job done.

i wouldn't sit on my a##e for eleven years waiting for something to happen, and i would have snapped anyones hand off for the kings dock.

I'm still as confused as hell about the kitbag, chang, Pienaar and Vaughan money myself, I would choose to invest that.

Sell Yobo, get £3 million, and buy 1.5 million euromillion tickets, take a gamble that way

Picture the summer of 2005. WE HAVE JUST MADE IT TO THE CL! (Well, nearly). What do you do ? Spend a few quid to take advantage of this incredible opportunity to make it back into the big time, knowing that the money will be repaid many times over if you make it to the group stage ??? Erm, no. You make public pronouncements declaring that Evertonians are "so glad just to be in the draw" for the qualifying stages.

That was the day the present chairman completely lost it for me. So the answer to the question should be b) but is of course c).

In fantasy land, I'd sell

JAGS 18m
BAINES 25m
FELLAINI 25m
RODWELL 20m

Thats close to 100m, or about 400% profit on FOUR PLAYERS!!

Reinvest 25m on 17-22 year olds, pick up a marquee signing and some freebies and do the same again in a couple of years time.

It's not Rocket Science, would inject much needed funds into the Club and we'd clear out of Debt city in no time.

I would rather move Arteta if that were the plan. I'd keep the young and highly rated and not earning a boatload over the guy who is earning a ton but still is in his prime.

The thing we have to definetely to do EVERY TIME is: NOT spend any money we don't already have.. One of the greatest clubs in Czech Republic almost go bankrupt because of that (Slavia Prague, but they found a buyer in last minute)..

So B definetely not for me, from that options I would be for C.

I can understand not going for option b) but leeds didnt have moyes as manager.

I still think that we must be doin somethin hush hush for him to stayed.
