....folk on here will know I like the young keeper at Southend called Bentley. Our rich new owner might mean we can shop in Harrods but there is talent in the lower league that shouldn't be ignored.

Watched a Southend game a few weeks back when a link to him appeared in the press. Let a goal in through his legs and flapped terribly at a corner. Was OK after that and would be a useful No 2 to Joel who has earned the right to be our starting keeper next season. After all, De Gea looked very dodgy in his first season and Courtois has had his moments this

I was at Accrington Stanley yesterday and in the club lounge pre-match. Got talking to the head hospitality bloke who also covers the same role at Burnley (and the Etihad in a smaller capacity) and he is adamant that Tom Heaton is moving to us in the summer. Can't say I've seen much of the lad if I'm honest.

I think you are being somewhat disingenuous to suggest the keepers that are being mentioned are being considered as backup to Joel Robles. For goodness sake give the lad his chance.
I'm not being disingenuous at all. I don't think we should settle for a "backup". We should go out and get the best goalkeeper available (within whatever budget Moshiri decides to set, obviously) and let Robles and the new guy have an equal chance to win the starting job. The fact that Robles has shown that he can be a solid Premier League keeper means we can be a bit riskier in who we sign, but it shouldn't mean we settle for someone who's obviously worse just to make Robles feel better about himself going into next season.
