....when and where would you go and why?

I'd go to the early 13th Century Mongolia to watch Genghis Khan's rise and fall... At its peak the Mongol Empire was the second biggest empire ever (second to the British empire, I think), so it'd be interesting to see exactly how they achieved that.

Quite into history, so interested to hear your answers

In terms of recent history, 1979 vote of no confidence and drag Alfred Broughton (the dying guy) to Westminster.

It may only have put off the inevitable but it may have kept Mrs T out forever.

Further back, I would have gone and seen the baby Jesus. I'm a sceptic with regards to his magic powers but I would like to be certain.

Further still, Ancient Greece and the great names that ring through science and philosophy today.

I'm assuming that you'd be able to travel through time and space (Dr Who style), otherwise travelling back in time 100 years would just have you exactly where you are now but 100 years in the past.

Think I'd have to go back and speak to Jesus and ask him, " Listen mate, are you God in the flesh or not? Because after you are flogged and nailed to a cross there is... oh yeah, you... erm... take a beating... sorry... maybe I should have broke that to you more gently. "

In all seriousness, I think I'd like to go back to the beginning of creation. It would be nice to see how it all began for mankind.

Without wanting to turn this into a religious thread (because I really don't), do you mean you want to see the whole Adam and Eve thing or do you want to see Homo sapiens at the very beginning of their "evolution"?

There is no reason to turn it into a Religion thread, I never mentioned Religion.

I mean I'd like to see whichever it is. None of us where there (obviously), so no one know. Our existence could have come from anything; Adam and Eve, Evolution, Alien experiment, etc. I think it would be good to see that point when we actually become 'human', no matter how it came about or what way it happened. I mean it's a moot point any way, unless you've built a time-machine
