If we hit the magic 40 points mark sooner rather than later, we could be left with 7-8 games that dont really matter much.
I feel it is important to try and finish strong on the basis of people in football have short memorys, a bit of a run and you are "potential for next season" and a feel good factor could emerge

Having said that, i feel it is important for some of our "long term" players to use this time as pressure free, and time to finally settle in after all the ups & downs and chopping and changes throughout the season.

WE need players to start building up partnerships especially in hte crucial areas like centre back and maybe between Sigurdsson & Tosun.

Michael Keane was a big investment in the summer, i feel he needs to be told, from here until the end of the season we are making minimal changes at the back and your our number 1 centre back, choose a partner for him (preferibly Holgate or even Mori, but probably Mangala will be picked), Jagielka & Williams with abit of luck wont be seen, possibly give Garbutt a run of games to see if he is an option and give it an opportunity for Seamus to get his match futness up!


The likes of Niasse (done great but he's not good enough), Schneiderlin, Williams, Jags shouldnt be seen to be honest and keep the match 18 as consistant as possible including the likes of Klaassen and Vlasic in atleast the match day squad,
 

All the players we have bought who are still with us are played in a settled team so that a proper judgement can be made on the ability to cut it in this league. Thn we will know who should be perservered with, who should go on loan and who needs to be bin-bagged!

Add Vlasic - I also omitted him by mistake, seems to have gone missing these days.

Tosun is worth an extended run before he's written off as well.
 
What we want and what will happen are two completely different things

Personally I want to see vlasic garbutt tosun klassen all put in the first team but I know there is no chance of that happening
 
I think for a few of these palyers, knowing you would get a settled run of games with the same players bar 1 or 2 tweeks over 7 or 8 games, knowing hey would keep there place could do them the world of good

Waas just about to write this myself! Cue Schneiderlin, Williams and Jags being stonewall starters from now to seaason end
 
If I stepped in there as manager, as a matter of urgency I'd do two things in the first week:

1/ get shut of Jagielka, Baines, Williams and Schneiderlin - have them banned from FF and sold/loaned out until sold/end their contracts. They are poison for this squad.

2/ get shut of backroom staff like Ferguson, Jeffers and rid the club of anyone who's had an influence on 1st team recruitment in the last two years.

That would go some way to cleansing this club - basic building blocks that we can erect more solid foundations on.

Nucleus of a good team potentially.
