If anyone should feel cheated....

I can live with Lukaku being awful for 89:55 and using the other 5 sec to score goals.

The non-pen call is what lost us the match for better or worse. 2 goal swing there.

Wasn't a pen though.

Hart's save from Naismith was the swinger.

I think Naismith (and McCarthy) are probably our two most consistent performers. We have other players who may have outstanding games one week but then are off the boil the next week. Naismith has not only scored goals but his link up play is good. Even last week, where we didn't play well as a team, I thought he did well until he got a bad knock and he later laid on a great ball for Delboy which was incorrectly called as of-side.
I think that the big Q is about Lukaku. He has some very strong parts of his game and some weak ones too. He is young and probably will develop but can we wait? Can we afford him? Tough call.

The deft touch from Naismith to set up Barkleys wonder strike was top quality. He's very under-rated. No pace, and surprisingly not as slick as Aguero, but he has been very useful this season. Top bloke too. Lukaku and Mirralas clearly like having him in the team.

So were saying that we need an Aguero class striker to go alongside and compliment a player that may very well not & as of now WONT be here next year ?

We've got the money for 2 top notch boots on fire strikers now then have we, ffs I await the 'we need to sign 3 dozen players to fill the bench for the extra europa games' thread, with a sub costing more than we can gain if we go all the way and win the thing.

Get any ideas of that happening out of your heads guys, he'll make some more astute signings and loans but I tbh can't see Europa being at the top of his priorities list ahead of Prem, it may be a cold hard fact of reality but thats the way it's gonna be.

Naismith has been one of our top performers this season. He has excellent positional sense, understands the art of laying off, and has one rare quality..he can play with his back to goal. The number of free kicks he earns with his back to goal is outstanding. He can also finish. I think we are beginning to see the Naismith who was getting rave reviews before his serious injury, and can also see why Jelavic thrived at Rangers with Naismith alongside him. Another thing..he has European experience, and will be very valuable to us in the next few years. He won't start every game, but I'm not sure that more than half a dozen will be nailed on starters when Bobby gets his squad together...no one more than Martinez understands that football is a tactical squad game these days. We had a few youngsters on the bench yesterday...last season our previous manager would be moaning about the lack of a quality bench....this year Garbutt and Ledson must have felt that they had a chance of some playing time. Bobby starts every game with 18 players, not 11.
