He's the player of the last few seasons.

One of the players you can say with hand on heart that if we hadn't have had we'd be a Championship club right now.

His interception and tackling stats are off the charts.

He's got the biggest football brain at Goodison for sure.

Hopefully as back up, but I agree they have things in their game that we still need, they do the dirty bits, every team needs.

He is this teams Bracewell. Not stylistically, but in the sense that its only Evertonians who seems to see how good he is. For the press and media he is largely overlooked. It was the same with Brace, everyone in that team seemed to get credit from the press except Paul.

I'd get the thinking with DOUCS if you could rely on any manager to use him situationally and not as an out and out starter. I just think he is too tempting of a fall back option and halts the development of other players that would bring more to the side.

Yes. Exactly this. Start to trail off Gana and bring up Tim. Should’ve been the approach this season with winding down Young and teaching up O’Brien. We should be doing the same with Doucoure and Alcaraz.

Gana ruled that first half - & did OK in the 2nd half - great shot at the end where we should have got that pen - he just seems to get better as each season ends ....
