Mate your going over the top at bit. It's just a game of opinions.

Silva decided to keep him. Time will tell if he was right. That's why he's the manager. .
But if he doesn't try something different in midfield, either system or personnel, or preferably both, then he will probably pay with his job.

Fair do's.

I just don't get why we're suddenly 'pathetic' for it. For actually doing something that pretty much all of us have said we need to do more of.

I'm sure if the bid had come earlier in the window - maybe even the day - then there'd have been more consideration.

gueye misses wolves game and rest of the season with a magical minor injury....

It's pathetic for a few reason, he doesn't want to stay, which is fine, the player is doing nothing wrong there, so why keep him.
We have the grand total of ONE important game left this season, so it's not like we need him.
He is 29 and needs to be replaced soon anyway.
We should have an eye on financial fair play.
The profit makes up for massive losses on Bolasiei, Klassen...egg
Silva clearly thinks Gueye can save him his job, as if he is going to want to do that.
His distribution won't get better.
The rest of the season could be used to give Davies game time.
Also it sounds like the club might be willing to sell, meaning Brands is ok with it, but Silva is sticking his beak in, one person should be in charge, and that clearly should be Brands, Silva can't even do the job He is paid for, let alone anything else.

How does it sound like that when THE CLUB have rejected both offers?

If he's going over the top an awful lot more here have gone Into orbit.
Makes very valid points.
It was a no win for the club.
Sell him and people would whinge we got no replacement in and we bowed down to a big club.
Keep him and it was too big an offer to turn down for a player who wanted out.

People want to keep their best players mate. Gueye splits opinion regarding if he's actually a top top player worth keeping.

People will moan if we sell our top players just as people have a right to main that we may have kept a player worth nowhere near what they've offered taking into account his limits and age.

I'm all for selling one and getting a replacement in don't get me wrong Toff, but I'm also a realist that its business as well and the fact I don't really rate the fella as he's been a part of a rank midfield for nigh on 2 years.

But hey ho, he's still here so we get on with it, hope he gets his head down and improved improves his performance levels because he's been way below what I expect from an Everton player ( not the only one but this is the Gueye thread after after all )

It's sounds like they have rejected them because of the manager, this is the same knob who wanted to move up when Everton showed an interested but wasn't happy about a player moving to a much bigger club with a great offer.
He's a hypocrite.

You’ve so blinkered it’s embarrassing.
Anyway it’s done now and unfortunately in 2 yrs we will have another 30 something player on a huge wage not contributing that we can’t shift.

Exactly, the only reason to offer him that recent new contract should have been to flog him on when the opportunity arose.
This was the model brands was brought here to implement. We never learn

Honestly mate I agree with you mostly.

What's annoyed me is the 'pathetic' shouts and also this sudden assumption (out of nothing at all!) that this is all on Silva. That Brands wanted Gueye out and it's only because Silva was kicking and screaming that Gueye has stayed, and that we should have just let Gueye go as soon as their first offer came in.

I know we love jumping to conclusions as a fanbase - and we really, really do - but this is something else.

I'm not blinkered.

I said it would not be the end of the world if we sold him. I said that this morning.

But there's a difference between selling for what we perceive as good value and at the right time.

Had PSG come in with that bid of £26m 2 or 3 days ago it could well have been different. They didn't. Had they offered £30m, perhaps it had been different. They didn't!

We had a valuation. They didn't meet it. That's it.

He's a hypocrite.

It really doesn't?

Tell me in what way that has been hinted at?

It has always been the stance of the entire club that Gueye wasn't for sale. The club's mouthpiece is the manager.
