We haven't had a song thread for ages, just think of the Gwladys sing your siong

Here is my offering

Sung to the tune of Queens 'We will rock you'

Feed the, feed the Yak Yak, Yak Yak

(the Yak's being accompanied by stamping feet and the choir invisible and repeated until you get a headache:P ):lol:

Already posted this somewere els.

Dont know the name of the song but it goes(oh,oh,oh its magic you know, never belive it's so)

OH.....OH.....OH........he's magic.......it's true..........scoring again YAKUBU...........he's magic.........it's true.......scoring again YAKUBU................he's magic........it's true.........scoring again YAKUBU

One they often used to sing when he played down here at Pompey was this one, sung to the tune of Agadoo.

Yakabu bu bu;
Feed the Yak and he will score;
Yakabu bu bu;
Feed the Yak and he will score

Or alternatively, also to the same tune.

Yaka Bu Bu Bu
Wont you score a goal for me
With your left
With your Right
With your head
Or with your knee

Let me give it try with the wording:-

OH......OH.....OH.....
Scores again our Yakubu!
OH......OH.....OH.....
Just Feed the Yak and
he will score, it's that simple! (Repeat once more from begining)

I did try to think of a better one!

I hope so:lol: :lol: :P

Ste Gerrard Gerrrard, Smells Money From 40 Yards, Wants To Be Ste Pienaar, Ste Gerrard, Gerrard....

Oh, a Yakubu song??? Am all out.

I quite like the 'That's Amore' one mentioned before. Has that tune ever been used as an Everton Song before or for one of our players?

How about reviving some of the songs for some of our ex-players. Maybe the likes of Roy Vernon, Ray Wilson, Dave Thomas, Bracewell etc. Does anyone know what they were to see if they're any good for our current players?

In those days we sung more to the team than an individual, first individual song I can remember was to the Cannonball theme tune and the gwladys sang

Alan Ball all all A lan Ball all all

Steaming down the right wing
tea rarsing along
beaten all their players sing out his song

Alan Ball all all Alan Ball all all

or words to that effect

They seemed a lot more imaginative in them days. I heard that we used to sing Christmad Carols around this time as well? No doubt with the words changed. Wasn't there one to the tune of Halls of Motezuma (or rather Monty-zuma!)and one with the line 'We're the lads from Goodison that you all know'?

What you have to remember is that the men on the terraces in those days had in the main served in the forces during the war or national service. Those lads were used to march, brass bands and all that, Dam Busters theme, 633 squadron, Monty Pythons theme tune (the actual title eluded me at the moment), Sousa marches and that sort of thing. I remember being in the Park end early and the old blokes would march on the spot in the winter to keep warm, I kid you not.(y)

So were some of our songs to the those tunes like the 633 squadron, or Monty Pythons theme tune? I've heard the Dambusters 'We all hate Leeds'!

Well yes but the real singing on terraces only started in the early sixties, the merseysound if you like. I hate saying it but the media picked up on the kop first with their moronic effort, it was helped by Shankley virtually conducting them from the pitch. It was such a poor ground they used to mill round like drunken penguins. We started with 'We shall no be moved' having already adopted the Z Cars theme, no words ever got put to that. Once things had started here the rest followed, I'm forever blowing bubbles etc
