It's a good old Lancashire barm cake. Scousers who calls it otherwise were probably born after 1974, which is when scousers ceased to be Lancastrians.
Which means -
Anyone over 47 from Liverpool is a wool.

For americans, but good fun anyway:

Having grown up in England, with parents from New York state and Washington state and now living in California, I have been told by Kiwis I sound like one of them, but this quiz tells me I am from Salt Lake City...make of it what you will.
After half a life in liverpool, some in NZ and the last 10 in Australia it turns out I'm equally from Detroit, Yonkers or New York

Upon further analysis I’ve decided calling a bread roll a barm cake is even worse than a ice l0ly being called a l0lly ice.

“can I have a cheese and pickle barm cake pls”

dafaq

Both are absolute woolish behaviour, it's Lolly ice and no matter how many dictionarys @Tree13 wants to shove up his Tory rag button will make me say otherwise, it's all about belonging, and I belong here with my uneducated but past down sayings while @Tree13 has his dictonary and Latin phrases to make him feel more clever

@Tree13 you kin dirty Tory rat *rat emoji FFS GOT*
Plural of dictionary is dictionaries.

Bad luck re the rat emoji though, it would be a handy addition to the forum.
