I'm sure if you managed to track down stats for fan influx to Everton I'm fairly certain that the biggest increases will naturally occur during times of success. I myself live over in Sweden, would probably not have stuck on Everton if it hadn't been for my father being a die hard fan and the fact that Limpar played in the Royal Blue at the time when I started growing interest in watching football and not just playing it myself. 2-3 years later we won the Cup and got more time on the tv which was great for me, as times before global broadcasts and the interwebs didn't do much to succour my love..

When I was younger I used to love watching Chris Sutton play, and watched Celtic a lot. However, my Dad had other plans, he had me sorted as a Toffee from the start.
I can't imagine supporting Celtic, I have a friend who is a diehard Celtic fan, but whenever the rest of us are arguing about the Prem, he seems a bit uninterested/uninformed of it all. I'd hate that!

Hmm i see. I confess i rarely bother to read the articles and just make strong, coherent, persuasive and ill informed arguements. Its fun. Sometimes when the mood takes me i like to imagine myself as tom cruise in a few good men. And sometimes i even like to imagine myself as demi moore. But thats more of a special occasion thing.

I hear what your saying, and I can see where you're coming from, nice for liverpool to be overtaken and all that.
The problem is, if any English team wins anything, that's a record we've got to try and beat. Let it be us that gets to 6 european cups first.
