I will say this...

This is a sh*t start...but, for some reason, I'm not as pissed off about them as I would've been in the past.

There's strange things afoot out there on the pitch and, like I said after the B'burn match, it's obvious we're having trouble clicking over what is an obvious (to me) transition phase in how we're attempting to control a match.

There's something tasty going on though, I just can't put my finger on where it's falling on its arse...I just hope the butterfly emerges ASAP.

I'm far from doom and gloom, though...which is very strange.

If we don't make any signings of any real magnitude before the deadline (which we probably won't do), then I'll be struggling to find an iota of that optimism I had pre-season.

But as it stands, I'm praying Moyes has got one last trick up his sleeve.

We played well today. We battered Villa on their own turf. What pisses me off is that once again we've got nothing to show for it. We've not been our best, but we've done enough over the 3 games to get at least 5 points.

we have been ok (bar b'burn), we should have won today and if we had got the second to make it 2-0 against wolves as we should have done we could have won that at a canter.

it's the lack of goals that is the worry as we don't look clinical at all.

I am with you GSG we have controlled all three games so far this season and but for a howler and a couple of lapses in concentration we would be a lot better off. We are becoming a top four contender just need the killer instinct in front of goal.

A top striker is the problem Beckford is still developing and will continue, Saha can not play for more than 45 mins although he did look three times more likely than beckford today, Yakubu is still injured or unfit.

We are not far away from being a real threat to top 6, Some tweaking at the back is also required but i am still looking forward to a good season.

Forgot about Pienaar's shot.

Just didn't happen for us today.

I'd have been REAL CONCERNED if we played like we did against Blackburn and to a lesser extent, Wolves. But we were much better than that today.

Saha made a big difference today had shots and nearly scored soon as he came on, Beckford still got a long way to go to be a top prem striker, we need a fit top class striker.

We can't keeplaying catch-up though , Shrimp' .

Plus , our HARD games are imminent .

This side has a shelf life . They need to achieve or I promise you it will break up . Thus , this is the LAST thing we wanted / needed .
