Look, because they'd been prevented from having an airforce, or even so much as an organised air flying corps (they had to rely on volunteer glider clubs) prior to the fuhrer, that their engineering arms produced what they did shows what brilliant minds they had harnessed for production but something more subtle, a willingness based on a generation of going without and not being very happy about it and so pouring that pain and suffering into preparing for a style of war that have never before been sought. That they started with such a restricted start and came as close as they did to seeing it through is testament to the ingenuity and steel resolve to succeed that almost sewed the whole shebang up.
