I was wrong

...add me to the list of converted. Seeing is believing and the Norwich goal converted me in an instant. I have said that him and Martinez are a perfect storm and I fear we would've still been in the midst of a Barkley debate if the manager hadn't changed. I'm made up to be proved wrong. I think his potential alone pushes him way beyond £20m, but he needs to let the perfect storm progress under RMs guidance. They are made for each other.

A player is worth whatever any paying club is prepared to pay for him. I think if Ross Barkley were to go following the World Cup, he would be worth in the region of £25-£30m based on unrealised potential alone.

bore off lad

Just like coleman i was spot on about barkley, if it hadnt been for john paul kissocks fall from grace i'd have a flawless record, stand by me boys and we will stepover our way to the top, and be rid of any honest pros and their unseen good work

Our Ross isn't going anywhere. He'll be doing this but with the new badge next season ...

I'm hoping he'll be as good as Henderson or Allen for them lot over the park some day, aren't you mate?

How much do you think you'll get for Suarez in the summer mate? You'll be proper gash without him.

I remember when he got on the bench a few times when he was 16, and I'd read all sorts of quotes on him, think it was Cahill who said he's the best footballer he's ever trained with or something.. I was working with my cousin and I said "look out for this Barkley kid, he's been on the bench for the last 2 or 3 games" and then he got the leg break injury literally before the next game.

Didn't hear much about him until he got into the team during the pre-season of 2011, saw the Villareal friendly on TV and I remember jumping out of my seat shouting "oh my god he's f*cking boss" when he did some little dummy and then pulled off the most delicate chipped pass to put Baines through on goal but Baines was offside.

Was at Goodison for his league debut against QPR, Moyes stuck him on the left (with Rodwell on the right, and a CM pairing of Osman and Heitinga - seriously Moyes?)... but despite still only being 17 he was by far the best player on the pitch. Spent the next 2 seasons being frustrated with Moyes' refusal to play him.

Finally under Martinez we're seeing what he can do, its just a shame he cant kick a ball without an article being written about him going to United or City or Chelsea. Got a really, really special player on our books, probably better than Rooney.

OK, search my posts... I was wrong on Ross Barkley. That's it. At the start of this season I thought he might be a decent footballer. Over 17 games he's proven me wrong.

He was **** last year, but I was wrong. He's a £20m footballer now.

No he wasn't. He didn't play last year. You're mistaking "horribly mismanaged" with "****e" there.

OK, he was dreadful at the Spurs game away (for example) last year. In several games where he was used he gave the ball away far too much.
