I think its time for a new looking Everton

If we were to sell the players we have listed. Moyes won't even see most of it anyway, it would go to reducing debt and paying wages. The players that i would i like to see go are:
Bilyaletdinov - 5mil (if were lucky)
Yakubu - 5-10mil
Yobo - 4-8mil
Vaughan-1-2 mil
Turner- 1 mil

We need to keep the likes of Heitinga in our side he would take over Distin. Distin is aging on, keep rodwell as i can see him as future captain. Mucha hasn't really had a chance to show what his worth. Remember we also have pienaar's money. (1-2mil). Interesting times ahead.
We need a striker, back up LB, right or left winger.

We'll get £12m for those 5 at the most. I reckon that would go toward the debt, with the money from Rodwell and possibly Baines going toward restructuring. I'd hope we're monitoring Larsson from Birmingham, on a free i think he'd be a great signing.

This. By taking big earners off the wage budget (Yak and Yobo are on decent wages, don't know about Bily), we could effectively balance the books by getting Larsson and Elmander in on free's, whilst being able to afford another winger for a decent amount (around £8m).

This summer is the first in a while where its been pretty obvious how we could improve out squad greatly for the same amount of cash raised by selling players who are heavily rumoured to be leaving.

The problem we have though is that while 8 million is a decentish amount of money, we get such amounts so rarely to spend that we need a dead cert when we do spend it. That is why Moyes and Bily get so much stick. Other teams can afford the luxury of such players not working out or not fitting in, we can't. How many dead cert wingers are there out there for 8 million? N'zogbia maybe? Donovan? I can't see much beyond that.

Well there's an element of risk with any transfer, there is no avoiding that, though i see where your coming from. N'Zogbia is too temperamental, he's mercurial at times but he's far too prone to throwing his toys out the pram and not performing, for me. And Donovan, as much as i love the guy, he's too old now, wouldn't want to spend anything over £5m on a player we wouldn't get more than 2 seasons out of.

I kinda agree on Donovan but I do think this squad is probably at it's peak now so adding someone like Donovan who would instantly improve us might push us over the hill finally towards a cup. Building towards the future is all well and good but it is getting to the point were if we don't "complete" this squad and win something, it is likely to be a long time before we get up to that level again.

Its not easy, that much is certain. I'm not sure Moyes and the scouts watched Bily closely enough, as we were didn't exactly have long to buy people with the Lescott money. I think he's identified Matt Jarvis as someone he likes, I seem to remember. However Wolves look likely to survive and I don't think £8m would be enough to prise him away.

I'd say there's 2 real posibilities.

1) Charles N'Zogbia - Can be a moody ****e, but if anyone can calm him down Moyes can. He has undoubted class, and is the top scorer in the Wigan team who've been woeful for the most part. He'd be my number one choice, especially as he'd be available for £5m-£7m as Wigan are going down.

2) Niko Kranjcar -Class act, but generally better down the centre. Sounds like a Moyes type signing to me though, and would be able to play on the left as well as in the middle. Problem is, Harry's a bellend and would probably ask for silly money for him. If his contract is up soon, and/or he pushes a move then we could get him for around £4m.

Thoughts?

N'Zogbia i could get on board with, wouldn't be my ideal signing but there you go. Kranjcar wouldn't come here, he'll have better options, as harsh as that sounds.

Would take both but Niko is a little too much of an enigma.

Personally I'm just a bit tired of seeing the same faces at the club every year. Seeing your team sign new players is one of the most exciting parts of being a football fan, and at the moment it feels like we're the only team not doing it.

Get rid of whomever we can, who we don't need, and bring just bring in someone. Please.

I'd take Kranjcar, he's a good footballer, can play wide left or behind the striker and would provide similar link up play to Pienaar, which gets the best out of Baines on the overlap. Given a full season, I'd say he's capable of 8-10 goals a season aswell.

We'd need to compliment his style of play with someone more direct on the other wing, though. Donovan wouldn't exactly solve our lack of dribbling ability, that wasn't his forte, but even having someone willing to run into space would improve us, and the passing options for the likes of Arteta and Fellaini. N'Zogbia would be brilliant, but I can't see that happening, personally.

I'd like to see us sort out our midfield before we do anything really. The centre midfield is good, but the wide positions and even Cahill's position need sorting out. It should be priority. We just don't have enough variety in our play, so signing a striker will mean very little if we don't give them service.

Bingo. Cause I really would prefer not to be Fulham every year. Slogging along... And as much as I would love for it to be LD (up to 7 goals in 5 games), there are indeed other options. But at some point, you have to make a push, or it's ending at 7th or 8th every year. Snooze.

For me its all about getting as good a striker in as we can afford, and if that takes all the money we raise from outgoings than so be it.

There will always be free transfers out there we can get if we move quick enough, that can fill the squad up, but if we go into next season without a recognised goal getter it doesnt matter how many fast, tricky wingers we buy it,ll be the same scenario.

Think of the likes of villa away, wigan home, even yesterday where we had 20+ shots but not enough quality in front of goal to make them count.

DO IT DAVEY.
