I think its time for a new looking Everton

I don't think radical changes are needed.. We will finish 7th this year with out spending sh!t.

If we come out the gate at the start of the race with the attitude we have at the end of the race than we're good.

Yak, Vaughn, Yobo = Gone

Billy, Heit, Rodders = Possibly

Winger, 2 Forwards = IN

(If Rodders goes for stupid money than we have a bit more options)

I started to read this thread with some intrest and then you hit me with Moyes and 35 mill to spend:lol::lol::lol: Next Please

the biggest problem we have, is a manager who is set in his ways and wont change for any one ,man u, wigan, city and today.he just does not have ago ,he had to go 2 up top, 2nd half v city. because we were at home and behind .as i said in diff post why didnt he send timmy home 3 weeks ago ,moyes has got to hold his hands up and take a lot of the blame this season , a lot of lads come on here talking about the lack of atmosphere at goody park, this is down to moyes team selection .the thing about the home crowd they respound to attacking football ,its not a lot to ask is it

Pretty sick of seeing us start a match with about 8 defenders on the pitch. What the [Poor language removed] was wrong with going with the lineup that finished City off last week? How many shots looped harmlessly over the bar today also? Feckin awful today.

I'm fairly certain we should have been awarded a clear as day penalty with Scharner's(?) handball, and Thomas should have received his 2nd yellow for a tackle that was every bit as bad, if not worse than Bily's, long before Bily was even introduced. The refereeing today was the worst I've seen in key moments for quite some time.

Spot on.

I love how it's fairly obvious what positions we need (LM/RM, Striker, with LB/RB also being a possibility as backups to folks we have) - one hopes Moyes sees them too. I'm sure he does. The question is going to definitely be who to sell, and how much of it do we get to keep for players.

I think there will be movement - there has to be. It'll be an interesting summer.

We need to plunder the relegation scrappers. I agree with the wholesale changes scenario - it really is what we need.

These are the players I would replace the outgoings with:

Rodwell - McCarthy (Wigan) £8 m
Bilyaletdinov - Morrisson (WBA) £8 m
Heitinga - MacArthur (Wigan) £4 m
Yakubu - Odemvingi (WBA) £5 m
Mucha - Westwood (Coventry) £1 m
Yobo - Williams (Swansea) £3 m
Vaughan - Wickham (Ipswich) £10 m/Moses (Wigan) £5 m

Besides the fee for Wickham the rest would be financed through the sales of the players mentioned in the original post. If we end up selling Baines or Jagielka for around £20 m. I would go after Samba (Blackburn) to replace Jagielka or Gunther (Nottingham Forest) to replace Baines.

A lot of 'football manager' effort has gone into this thread.

But I wouldn't get your hopes up guys.

We will see very little movement in the summer, I just don't know why people would expect different from this board or manager.

Strongest squad we've had in a while... right.

I'm lost for words, really. I hate to nihilise the discussion, but we really can't do anything but wait and see and hope we don't do anything stupid and end up with a crap squad with experts at sub-par-ism and end up looking like Blackburn.

Our team this season has been all about getting strong men in front of the back four and one or two good headers up front. We rely too much on crosses from our backs (notice how many crosses are put in by baines and hibbo/neville, compared to how much of that effort that is done by ossie, tets, billy or those in the "winger" role) and not enough on pace, through balls or just attempting to release one man clean through on goal. The chances of that sort are so much more fun to watch and for our players to convert than just jumping, closing your eyes and hope you connect. Just IMO.

Thats probably not far off the money to be honest, but we're so far off where we want to be, its untrue ! We need investment, either that or a couple of Moyes wonder-strokes in the transfer market, and the longer we have to wait for it the quicker the inevitable rot will set in.

It will most definitely be an interesting summer.
