I have to say, now that I have been there...

Just so we are clear the thread was about moving from Goodison to a new stadium. And mrs the Esk and I are not running off together.

Bloody would need therapy if that happened, be surprised to see them in the same room ffs.

My mrs still remembers when her family were away on a caravan holiday when she was about 11 and she walked in on her dad getting noshed off by her mum. It causes much laughter for me, until I see how much of a monster her mum is and that quickly brings me back down to earth.

Hahahaha, that would be horrific.

Always rip my mate about him walking in on his mum and dad shagging on the sofa downstairs in the morning, apparently they'd thought he was staying at mine.

Could have been worse, could have seen her dad nosh her mum off.

When I used to go to newer grounds in the 90s, particularly when I moved to London, on returning to Goodison I'll confess I used to think "Christ, what must visiting fans think of this place? We need to change this up or move fast"

Now I've started getting to away games more often again the last couple of seasons, and visiting these soulless, corporate inverted bin lids, on tacky light industrial parks barely connected to the cities they represent, just makes me adore the Old Lady more each time I go back. Maybe its 'cos I'm knockin' on a bit meself, but the place just oozes history for me, not just of Everton but of English football, from a time when it meant more than buying trophies with petro dollars, 3D TV coverage at 12.30 on a "Super" Sunday and shirt sales to "fans" who'll never come near the stands. I'll be heartbroken if we ever leave.
