I'm actually wearing the "I am the Secret Footballer" t-shirt right now. I won it, and the book, because The Groaniad printed a question I asked him (which he answered).

The book gets frustrating fast because he never names anyone. Me or you could make up scintillating titbits and not name anyone. Without names, there's no point.
