Well, didn't really go away, but now my new hard drive is installed, I have my new version of Windows 2003 (all the glam of XP, none of the drama) up and running, connectivity problems resolved. I am raring to go again.

I tell you what, 500Gb is a beautiful sight to behold, I am well chuffed. Now am thinking of getting a Raptor to boot the OS from :D :p

Is anybody else confused? haha :D

just kidding dylan, We bought an external HDD ages ago can't remember how much it could hold, about 250gb I think. Its always nice to have lots of HDD space.

On the subject of externals, they are good because you can chuck stuff off them and then just unplug them, so your pc still feels light, try filling that 500gb HDD up and booting your pc :p

With Win 2k3, boot times aren't an issue, even if that 500gb was chock-a-block. However, if you use a Western Digital Raptor (10,000rpm SATA drive) stuff loads so much faster, and things like photoshop and any video software will run faster because it is all hdd work.

Don't like externals, as they normally interface via USB, and the current USB 2.0 standard has around a 450Mb/sec transfer rate, verus my SATA drive @ 3.0Gb/sec. That and they are more expensive.

The only time Dylan posts these days are if someone bumps his threads or if you say the magic code.
