I live in San Diego California, and have been an Everton fan for about 6 months.

I picked Everton for a couple of reasons. I wanted to start following a premier league team, and didn't really want to pick a big spending team because its like picking the Yankees or Red Sox. I am from the US and wanted to pick a team that has an American in the XI. Two different branches of my family immigrated from Liverpool. My best friend from college is a Liverpool fan. I hate Fernando Torres. After my research into premier league teams Everton seemed to match-up to my favorite US pro sports franchises (Vikings, Braves, Boston Bruins) as somewhat successful yet frustrating (and o'man has this first season been frustrating).

I am hoping to catch a game either in April or September when over on business. The whole buying tickets experience is a complete mystery to me, can I just scalp tickets or do I have to be a member of the club and accumulate points or whatever?
 

Welcome mate, depending on the game but normally you can pick tickets up.

This has been one hell of a frustrating season but thats the Everton way, with all the frustration when it is good, its very good because we have the best fans in the world.

Also Torres is now at Chelsea so maybe you hate him so much!
 

I'm going to give it about three to four months before you discover that you didn't pick Everton.
