Hundreds of children missing in ferry disaster

Yeah am aware of that, but it's the biggest killer of under 40 year olds in the country; I think it probably stems from the educational system and manifests in the pressure of getting a good job... and keeping it. It's a massive problem anyways, terrible news about the teacher who hanged himself. Crazy that he felt he was responsible for the tragedy and the only thing to do was to kill himself. It's gonna get a lot, lot worse in the next days... horrible story.

Very much so. Also bullying is a huge problem especially when the lads go off to do national service for 2 years.

Hopes are really fading now that this will have any sort of encouraging ending.

I've read about that as well, for all the academic success it brings, it also brings huge pressure and a lack of a 'free' childhood

Absolutely spot on. Many kids who don't show much academic promise are shipped off to their grandparents in the countryside - their parents remain in the city and visit them at best at weekends but very often its monthly - or less. It's creating a very bitter generation of youngsters
