Howard Out?

Howard made a mistake, no doubt about that. But he has been top class since we had him.

One mistake yesterday and you feel he need to be dropped? Come on get a grip. Its not like he does it often like Gomez did at Spurs. If he did then drop him and there is no argument to support him.

He should no be judged on how he reacts now. I can guarantee that he will be working his arse off in training to work on the mistake. If he does it again then drop him and see if that helps him.

Have to disagree here, I would not say Howard is world or top class, better than average yes. Mistakes can happen, thy can cost games and points which can be reather imprtant come May. Howard made mistakes in the WC so it is not a one off, he has made mistakes in previous seasons with us but on the other end of the pendulum has made some great saves inc' penalities.

Another facet to Howard's game was that SAF got fed up with his errors when he was at United and dropped him which heralded his departure to us. SAF replaced him with a world class keeper, Van der Saar now I would have preferred him to Howard.

But give him a break see how the next few games go.

no ifs ,no buts , howards mistake cost us a point.
he did get 99% of his decisions right , but that 1% he got wrong was our undoing.
yes our overall team attacking play against blackburn was blunted , but the result of that at worst should have been a draw.

id like to think the point of a big squad is not only to ensure cover when injurys occur but also to provide competition.
if a player is given a starting place and doesnt produce or makes a mistake that cost us points then he should lose his place and the next man should be given a chance.the next man should then keep his place as long as he performs.

surely this is the way to get the best out of the players and to give the non starting 11 incentive and hope ?

Put Turner in. Howard cost us the goal, and Mucha was in the squad that lost to Blackburn and ruined our season/lives. Turner in. Actually no, he is part of Everton football club who lost to Blackburn ruining our season/lives. Buy back Ruddy.

This. Soonest.

In the words of Mrs. Thatcher (a fave in these parts, I know) "This isn't the time to go wobbly..."

Alternately, we could have him shot. Pour l'encouragement d'les autres, y'know.

50 replies. You guys fall for it hook line and sinker.

But I tell you what, if i see Howard berating his defenders then he will need to be checked.

I do hope Moyes organised the towel whipping though, it was defo a requirement.

Hang on, has he just tried to play a "I was winding you up" card there?

Blimey, he did. They won't buy it though.

Yeah he did.

Its a bit sad and pathetic to have to try and wind people up on internet forums to get your kicks really isn't it.

Someone give ghost a medal or something.
