How stupid are Manu?

LVG is a crap manager in my opinion. Spent an absolute fortune and never sorted out the main part they were terrible in which is their defence. Got too many players that can play the same position and plays a system that doesn't work for them. But because of who he is nothing is really being said like it would have with Moyes.

This should probably go in the "How stupid is Phil Neville?" thread, but until then:

Manchester United are '£100m off winning title,' says Phil Neville

Manchester United need to spend big again in 2015 before the club can once more be seen as title contenders, according to former Red Devils defender Phil Neville.

United's seventh-placed finish in the Premier League last season led new coach Louis van Gaal, appointed in place of David Moyes, to splash out over 150 million pounds on Angel Di Maria, Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and loan signing Radamel Falcao.

Absent from that list, however, was an out-and-out central defender, a position which has seen United struggle this season as Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Jonny Evans battle for form and fitness and youngster Tyler Blackett seeks to establish himself.

And Neville, who spent a decade as a professional at Old Trafford having come through the club's youth system and worked as a coach for Moyes last season, believes that is the biggest issue still to be addressed.

"I know United have spent 150 million pounds," he told BBC Radio 5 Live. "I think there's another two transfer windows of similar amounts of money needed -- maybe 100 million pounds -- before they can even think about winning the title.

"There are still key positions in the team that need filling. I think the centre-back position is obviously the key area. Holding midfield or centre midfield needs addressing too.

"There were no world-class centre-backs out there [this summer]. I think that's why in the next two transfer windows, United might still be looking for that world-class defender."

However, he backed England internationals Jones and Smalling to eventually prove their worth to the club.

"I am certain Chris Smalling will come good and I have full faith in Phil Jones as well," he said. "They've bought of a lot of foreign players, you don't get rid of your English spine."

If I understand this correctly, he is saying that a side that won the league needs two years and £300m in transfers to get back in contention.

Where is @RAWK Meltdown ? Wonder if he is still ' buzzing '.

He is probably getting smashed as we speak. Been on a 48 hour bender. I would like to join him and drown some of my sorrows too.

:D

Work has been mental this week plus I've got MAN FLU! Not been sleeping at all, waking up in hot sweats, seeing Leicester bang 5 goals past us - still as if it was all a dream. OR a nightmare more like!

I am still buzzing though, yes - DI MARIA  ;)
