With a defence that has more holes than one of Ena Sharples hairnets, what lunatic at Manu decided that the largely useless Phil Jones - who cannot be considered a regular starter in any defensive position - justifies a 5-year contract extension and an additional £25k a week ??

Have they never heard of offering incentives rather than just lumping up an already ridiculous salary package ??

If ever a decision has been made with little or no serious thought into the inevitable escalation of other bit-part players contracts, terms and conditions - this is the one.

Clubs like us get questioned over why we fork our £28m and big wages for Rom, but we urgently needed a goalscoring CF and that is our justification...

Don't think even the RS would have made Jones such a crazy deal.
