don't know what the local aussie /carlton cat's p costs I stick with the kilkenny or guiness so that cost a bit more say $au6.50...more in town though.
There are some smaller niche brewers trying to get in but they all taste either too yeasty or too hoppy.

nearly got caught tho the offie ( bottlo here ) they had a sign 'European Stella' pint bottles nearly dived in until I checked not Belgian but English.

Also, no beer etc in queensland super markets

About 6-50 (pounds) for a good Guinness, but as @SerenityNigh says above, we also have 'lunch specials' and 'extended happy hours' until early evening if you can make an early dart from work.

Lunch special would be a pint and anything on the menu for about 8 quid, happy hour about 4-50. That's why Berne looks a bargain. (n)

My 'local' would be The Magpie near Bishopsgate, where you'll pay roughly £4.50-£5 for one of their many excellent real ales and craft beers.

My actual local back home is more of a £3 affair, but I never got there cos I've got no-one to go with. <sobs>
