Why's that? Dodgy, in what way? The misconception with London is that it's great to go out around the West End(Leicester Sq, Picc Circus, Soho etc) whereas you couldn't be any further from the truth - you go out round there on a Sat and it's full of out of towners from Essex, Kent and Oooop North....oh and thousands of tourists. This of course attracts gangs of street urchins - gangs of pickpockets, street kids up to no good, beggars and just general no-marks. Londoners very rarely go out around here, especially on a Sat night. I've lived down here for 22yrs, I know and Hoxton Sq, Old St, Shoreditch is the place to go - actually, even that is now getting very mainstream and cliched but you'll have a better time there than in the West End
