How Far Away is Browning From Stepping Up When Stones Leaves?

The view held by many at the club is that Browning is going to be a more complete CB than Stones. He's positionally better, far quicker (the fastest player on our books apparently) and far stronger in the air. He hasn't got the confidence and ability on the ball that Stones has but let's face it, what does Stones's style with the ball produce in terms of winning, or even not losing, games?

How do you know this?

I think many at the club would disagree with that statement. Strongly disagree

and Ibe is better than Sterling don't ya know

Diffrent type of player ,more of a traditional centre back, fast strong decent in the air and a good defender , needs a little bit of self believe and game time.
I rate the lad and Gallaway think a year or so and they will be ready to play a full part in the squad.
both have everthing to make a good impression at this level,

I'm not so sure about that meself. Stones is quite capable aerially, and isn't afraid to put his head a-la Mick Lyons.

I rate Browning. I don't however think we should risk him as a starter for this season. He might work and be another John Stones but it's too big a risk.

One more year from Stones would have been perfect.

Was obviously uncomfortable at LB against City, but wasn't fazed when thrown into the derby at Anfield last year. I'd much prefer develop the likes of him, Galloway and Holgate - then bring in Evans on a big wedge.

Alcaraz still a free agent?
