How excited was England for this tournament?

Being away from the UK it was impossible to gauge how 'up for it' England was for the tournament.

Did the nation fully get behind the team with car flags and the like from competitions of old or was there a general malaise?

Korea goes mental for every tournament, and I like it to be honest. It really adds to the occasion to see 70 year old women who have no idea about footy getting right in to the match.

Or was England rather half cocked about it all? Honestly I'd think it a shame if the nation lost a bit of its excitement for summer finals.

It probably was less than usual to be fair.

The pubs were still packed, although i'd say less than the world cup.

Saw a few flags around but again not as much.

maybe just a bit....

The villages by us were just full of flags and the pubs were absolutely packed for each match. More than the last world cup I would say........

Didnt have the same amount of flags and stuff as in the past, but it was squashed between the Jubilee, (which did seem to get a lot of people up for it), and the Olympics, which are starting to get people more excited each day it seems. My pub & village havnt taken the bunting down since it was put up a week before the olympic flame passed near, stayed for the Jubilee, was still there for the euros, and I dont expect will be taken down till after the games.

I think as pointed out that the country was allready dressed in flags and bunting after the jubilee and excitement about the games. I do think that the nation was a bit more realistic about Englands chances, even the press didn't do the usual "We will win!" malaky.
