As Pereira is being discussed more it got me thinking about foreign managers that have come in and out of our league without having a good grasp of the language. To name a few Scolari, Juande Ramos, current Southampton manager, Fabio Capello etc and there's been a lot more.

How does this work like? How do they communicate with their players? How do they motivate them? How do they give speeches before the game and at half time?

They'll speak a bit of English they won't be completely illiterate, probably quite a few will know more than they let on, Pochettino just isn't comfortable in front of the media. It's like Tevez he can speak English fine but rarely does in the media. Being intelligent people immersed in it they pick it up quickly.

I've wondered this as well. Capello especially was a strange appointment as all his players were English, and his first interviews had to be in italian because he couldn't speak the language!

Crazy.

Anyone know how Pereira's english is?

What if the manager speaks perfect English, but half of the players don't? It goes both ways! They seem to find a way!
