Hotels close to Goodison

I’m looking at staying at a hotel not too far away from Goodison for games this season as it’s too far for me to go there and back in a day really so better to make a weekend of it.

Any recommendations of hotels that have decent transport links to Goodison Park?

Can probs stick a sleeping back down in The Lisbon, bit of a walk but manageable.

I normally stay(ed) at the Premier Inn at Moorfields. It's at the back of Moorfields station. From there to Kirkdale with Merseyrail.

Been far too long since my last visit.

There's a couple of guest houses across the park from gp. Not sure of the quality... Or if they are overloaded with kopite rubbish

Then train to Kirkdale. Get a few pints in after the game and train back to town when it has quietened down.

Hotels have cottoned on and matchdays/weekends are expensive.

If arriving in town then staying there would be best. Easy train to Kirkdale and back out.

Premier Inn in the city centre then the soccer bus to and from the ground (£4 return) is my tried and tested method.

I got an air b&b on Birkenhead rd north when I was there last, just a short walk to the ground

Definitely better to stay in town and then to travel to the game. Getting to Goodison from the city centre is pretty straight forward and fairly cheap.

Yeah driving from Norwich mate, thought about getting there Friday night so I'm not going there and back all on Saturday

That's a sensible choice as there are lots of good pubs surrounding it too.

Loads of Airbnb’s in the city centre mate, ranging from very cheap, to expensive.
