Horror films

Ok, we have had the most listened to, recent films....Just wondering if anyone on here likes the horror genre....

Mine tonight..is a classic....The Exorcist
Probably still the most unnerving film of the greatest decade of horror ever....1970's.
Modern horror just doesnt cut it.....from what I have seen.....

Any recco's blues ??

I would recommend the silent films of the late 10s/early 20s like Das Cabinet Des Dr Caligari, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Nosferatu, Der Golum, Phantom of the Opera and so forth

Fav 3: The Shining, Alien, Jaws.
-if you ever get a chance to see The Shining, for the 1st time, in an empty dorm room becuase you are the only one back due to the fact that there is a foot of snow on the ground do it.

Kinda underrated: Poltergeist

Fav slasher movie: Nightmare on Elm Street.

Nosferatu was ace....watched that. Proper nasty looking vamp him... Will have to check the rest tho cheers

Loved both. Why the hell has hollywood attempted to remake both.....perfect the way they were.....well american turned parisian...and the thing turned cgi...but yeah...classics

Proper classics both....have to say though, neither films have spawned anything worth mentioning since. Aint it odd that horror / slasher films from after the 70- 80's really have not managed to improved a classic genre....one iota.

I think Saw was probably the most genuine attempt at something different, but like the original slashers Hollywood just drains every ounce of it to the point it ruins the initial film
