Is the solution not to make the European tickets compulsary, like United do ???

Surely that would alienate some fans further, not all season ticket holders will be able to make games on a Thursday night. The club over-priced the tickets, simple as that.

First European game in ages, I'm on it. Why wouldn't you want to be there?

If it were a matter of wanting, we'd sell out a 60k+ seater stadium weekly.

There's the small matter of getting to it and paying for it though. Not everyone earns enough to get to that many games, and those who do don't all work hours which let them do a Thursday night game. There's nothing embarassing about not having 40k fans who can do a particular night.

Could that not be the same for Wednesday games ??? But we get huge crowds for them.

It's just an idea though, so maybe it is just the price. But to me its a big game, we are back in Europe....and fans are not arsed, it seems.

I think the fans cant wait, I just believe the club would have been better off pricing the game at £20 and getting a sell out or close. Better than 25,000 people paying £28/33 a head.

Surely people are not as excited as they say, if they wont pay the money.

I agree, the price is wrong. But what if it was Ludogretts in the CL ???!!!

People vote with their feet & for many, P L takes precedence. £20 a go & they might be arsed but not at the club's price.

25000 x £28 = £700,000
at £20 a head, you would need 35,000 to achieve the same figure
Not saying the club are right, but that's the reality of it.

I live far enough from goodison that I need to take 2 days off work to get to a weekday game.

I still go to them occasionally and I'll make an effort to get to at least one European game each year we're in it but they're a bugger.

And that's the same whether it's CL or league cup.

Fair enough mate, but you cant use that for the majority of our fan base.

It no harder than a Derby at home on a Tuesday etc.
