Hitzlsperger

Rumor has it Fulham want Hitzlsperger aswell. (can't post link, it's on the tribal football site if you want to google it up.)

But maybe he's signed with us already then?

I'd be happy with him but sadly I feel it'll only be cover for if and when Neville gets injured. It feels like he'll always waltz into the starting XI, somehow. Der Hammer is miles better than Phil Neville, but signing him wouldn't mean he's in front of PN in the pecking order.

IMO you have nothing to base an opinion that hitzleberger is a better option than Neville in our team. I hope we sign him to have another body which will cover barkley's loan. Who knows he may come on and impress and prove to be a better option than Neville as back up in the CM posistion but he may turn out to offer any more or even less than Neville.

Extra body till January when hopefully valdis comes in and maybe Barkley comes back. I'm not expecting much more of him tbh and we'd never of looked at him if not for the valdis fiasco.

I live in Germany and know a fair bit about Hitzlsperger. I think I am quite qualified to pass judgement on him, and only an idiot would put Phil Neville in our first XI over nearly any other able-bodied under 35-year-old man.

It's about fitting into our team tho... Right now! About knowing how the team play what's expected of you and the strenght ect of our team. As a footballer Neville may well be a poorer player than hitzleberger, but only a idiot would drop him and bring in a player who hasn't played any competitive football recently, has struggled with injuries and failed to stay at any of his recent clubs longer than a year!

Hitzlsperger isn't walking into our starting XI, that's insane.

Hitzlsperger isnt a holding midfielder though, I live in England ahve seen a fair bit of him too, Neville isn't as bad as people make out, he hasnt been brilliant and has definately lost a bit of legs during game, but he's still a decent holding player, who when GIbson is out, has to cover.
