according to the echo he trained with the lads at finch farn yesterday so moysey could have a look at him

Meanwhile former Hamburg and Aston Villa midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger trained with the Blues at Finch Farm yesterday, as Moyes mulls over whether to offer him a short-term contract to boost his engine room with Darron Gibson facing another two to three weeks on the sidelines.

Would rather Hargreaves if there's a chance he could get fit enough to play even a bit part. Pretty sure this guy's injury record isn't so hot either but hey... Not really many back up options left.

I prefer Hargreaves as well. Although Hitzelsperger has played for some big clubs, look at the outcomes:

Villa - Left on a bosman - wasn't getting in the team ( started 14 games in last season)
Stuggart - left for 500K to sign for Lazio
Lazio - Released after six months
West Ham - Signed a three year deal, left for free after 12 months
Wolfsburg - Signed a three year deal, contract terminated after 12 months

I think your being a bit disingenuous there mate he played a lot for villa nearly a 100 games but the were issues with him leaving on a free so he was pushed out the side and the he went to Stuttgart where he played 125 times scoring 30 goals and won the title. The player then signed a 6 month deal at lazio so it's not like he signed for 5 years and was released after 6 months that was the deal he'd signed and I've no idea if there was a management change or whatever but obviously he left and although he only played a dozen times on whatever at west ham I'm pretty sure the clause about his release was related to relegation.

I'm not banging the drum for this bloke but your description was although accurate maybe a bit harsh.

Christ that doesn't sound good! Ha...

Tbh I think we'll do some recruiting in January so whoever comes in I'm pretty sure is just a body. As bad as Neville is I'm not so sure hitzleberger is any better for the team. At least with Hargreaves if he can fit enough to play here and there he is a quality player! Can even play RB!!

But you can slant it positively or negatively can't you ?

For example you could say he left west ham as he didn't want to play in the championship and the poster didn't mention captaining & winning the bundesliga with Stuttgart The only time the club have won it in the last 20 years and his goalscoring record there was very impressive wasn't it ?

The same Facts can be listed in a positive or negative fashion and interpreted depending on the posters intentions , like I say I'm not campaigning for his signing just trying to be balanced.

Hitzlsperger is a very good mifielder, He is a good passer, good work rate, good shot on him, Will be a good signing, Just a shame about his injuries.
