Hitzlsperger

He's a decent player but if he's struggling with injuries regular we should look elsewhere. I'd only use him as Gibsons reserve though which means no Neville in midfield.

Any gifs of this 45 yard bar rattler?

Edit: just seen it , cheers Netro.

Laughed at the ref getting on one as Thom ran at the ball!

I hope he shouted "MEGZ" when he did that otherwise it didn't count.

I like him, a midfield two of him and Gibson is a bit too static for me (you need a stayer and a goer in a midfield two and they're both the former, hence why Osman was stuck there later on) but the lad has clearly got quality, we cry out for players to fill out the squad all the time here and shouldn't be sticking our noses up at a player who's got bags of experience and quality to boot.

You never know in todays game but I doubt that he's commanding much in terms of wages, cheeky little 2 year deal would be great for us I think, he's not Willy World beater but hasn't looked out of place at all, and is certainly a better option than what we've seen stuck there in the past.

Yeah i'd have no problem whatsoever with him getting a proper contract, at least till the end of the season, he's the experienced backup we need right now.

Good footballer, always has been. Issue is that he is a very similar player Gibson, we dont need two of them in teh first XI.

For somebody chasing European football though (and maybe for once a crack at a bloody cup)...we need more than a good first XI matey.

Very few people seem to look past our first 13-14 sometimes, you need backup all over the place to succeed, he's good enough and he's fitted in straight away.

Come on Moist, don't be a bell.

The fact Gibson is out for 2 weeks sort of proves the point.

Even if the ban gets overturned he probably won't be playing anyway, and with Fellaini and Mirallas both out our squad immediately looks thin.

If we didn't have Hitz it would be what, Neville and Osman in midfield ? Eurgh.

I didnt say we didnt need him, just that we dont need both Gibson and Hitzlsprger in the first team, they are too similar.

You think Hitzlsperger improves that?

You can see why clubs still want him, but you can see why he bounces around at the same time. If that makes any sense. His aversion to tackling makes him a liability in the middle there.

Yes, i think that playing a midfielder in midfield over a right back whose legs have gone is an improvement.

Crazy i know.
Nevilles got more legs in midfield than hitzlspberger lad. Hitz cant do more than 60-70 mins hes nackered.

Again no substance

Your footballing opinions are fairly reflected by the red dots below your username.

Neville goes missing for games at a time in midfield. Your point is one of general fitness, something which can be overcome. You can't overcome Neville's destroyed knees and total inability to do anything more than a 10 yard pass.

When was the last time he played a good ball over the top for Baines to run on to ? When was the last time he cracked the bar from 30 yards out ? When was the last time he did anything other than point, receive the ball and pass it sideways ?

Debating the merits of starting Hitzlsperger over Neville is exactly why the center of midfield needs strengthening this January.
