The fact he is playing tonight should be motivation enough,from playing with Inters 1st team to this lot, he should be determined to get playing again, I hope he is, though i doubt it..

I'm quite sure Akpan is a Toxteth boy. He used to play for Kingsley Utd, my local team. I've seen him play a few times.

Agree with you there. I believe it's now proven Andy van der Meyde misses the mentality needed to be a solid performer. Shame to see someone let his talents go to waste, the way he did. How many times during his career has he come out and said something along the lines of "I want another chance, or I definately want to prove myself." I would be prepared to give him that chance, but somehow I doubt his sincerity.
