She is talking absolute rubbish.

The problem with fundamentalist / jihadi Islam is not that 20-25% of muslims globally back it (in reality its nowhere near that figure) - its that a couple of the richest countries in the world do (as an acceptable alternative to them having to deal with reality), and of course that the one remaining global superpower has spent much of the past forty years flirting (even after 9/11) with them.

Nor is it difficult to critique the argument that Western policy towards the Middle East has been a fairly consistent stream of bad since 1918; culminating of course in the twin disasters of Iraq and Syria, and the betrayal of any and all principles with the collusion to what happened to Morsi, the MB, thousands of protestors and more than a few journalists in Egypt.

I disagree

However what is your source of information to back up your statement

Also whats your alternative to America safeguarding the freedom of the world ??

I have no objection to America safeguarding the world; it is them destabilizing it that I am objecting to.

edit: as for "source of information" - that is pretty much the history of the region from 1918 to now.

And how is this happening

Aside from some of her figures (probably, although I don't know really) completely agree.

The amount of people who say "yeah but not all Muslims are like that". Yep, and no one's saying they are a problem.*

*except those who quite rightly blame the Muslamic infidel.

No

Answer the question

er...

They (and we) invaded Iraq, made in a year an even bigger mess of it than Saddam had managed to achieve in twenty years. They (and we) helped to overthrow Gaddafi, making a colossal mess again and resulting in lots of deaths, chaos and of course the Benghazi attack that the clowns in the debate like to pretend was Obama's fault. They (and we, and the Saudis and Israelis) then either (at best) did nothing to prevent, or more likely helped to overthrow the democratically elected Morsi regime, which proceeded to collapse causing thousands of deaths and resulting in a military dictatorship. They (and we, and the Saudis and Israelis) then had a good go at getting rid of Assad, even though he was (and is) demonstrably fighting against precisely the same sort of scum that were behind 9/11, 7/7, the Madrid bombings and countless other atrocities. All the while they (and we) were also making threats against the Iranians, despite Iran being (in an admittedly messed up area) one of the sanest and least likely to attack us countries in the region. They (and we) also backed the Israelis, even though they invaded one country, attacked at least two more, and continued the illegal occupation of Palestine during this period.

...in your opinion.
