I was just looking at the league table today and seeing Luton town on the bottom of the pile made me wonder.
It doesn't seem that long ago when they were top flight stalwarts giving us a hard time in that semi-final, that is until sheedy drove one.(y)
Then there are other teams QPR , Sheffield Wednesday, Norwich, Coventry and the obvious ones Forest, leeds - all these teams 10-15 years ago were established top flight teams.
So lets go 10 years into the future and tell me who would you like to see - off the football radar and languishing in the lower echelons of the football league ? -

For me its got to be Newcastle Utd

Not sure about like to see but clubs like Blackburn, Wigan and Bolton could go that way as I don't think they have the resources to bounce back if they went down. Boro could well be the same.

i do have e.s.p. i can see years in advance.
i predicted the nonbuilding of analfield2 due to debt, next up is the departure of the ladyboy after the bank auctions him at sotherby's, and gives r/s nothing but an auctioneers fee.

Little bit off topic but bear with me, it's kind of related. Was playing Premier Manager 99 the other day on my PC, and like 4 games of the season was looking at the league tables.

Manchester City bottom of Division 2. (League 1 etc.)
Hull City bottom of Division 3, Wigan not far off.

Was a strange one.

As for the thread title, you've got to think along the lines of clubs like Boro and Wigan. Although if you think about it Charlton will be League 1 next season, they've dropped like a stone aswell after a few years of consolidation.

Newcastle and Spurs would be hilarious if they went down.

Sad to see some decent historic clubs languishing in lower leagues who were big names when i was growing up like Nottingham Forrest and Sheffield Wednesday.

Not looking good for Norwich either. 16 years ago they were 3rd in the Premierleague and knocking Bayern Munich out of Europe. Now they are awful and struggling to stay in the Championship.
